Zamak or brass: which bag hardware is right for you?

Zamak

What it is: A die-cast zinc alloy, plated in the finish you choose.
Weight: Lighter, so it suits small bags and long straps.
Cost: Lower, and easy to cast in custom shapes.
When to use it: Everyday and premium bags, and custom-shaped logo hardware.

Brass

What it is: A solid copper and zinc alloy, polished or plated.
Weight: Heavier, with the weight people associate with luxury hardware.
Cost: Higher, for the metal and the finishing.
When to use it: Luxury bags, and hardware that takes gold or platinum plating.

D-rings and rings that carry the weight of the bag are welded, so they don't open under load.

What is the MOQ for bags made in Italy?

30–50 pieces per style, depending on the leather and the construction of each bag. The price per piece tends to drop from about 200–300 pieces per style. Prototypes and samples are quoted separately, and you can order a prototype on its own.

How much does it cost to make a leather bag in Italy?

At 30–50 pieces per style, handbags and backpacks start from €60 per piece (Entry), €80 (Mid), and €120 (Premium). Totes start from €15, clutches and cosmetic bags from €15, and travel bags from €70; bucket, crossbody, and beach bags are quoted per model. A sample costs about 2× and a prototype about 3×.

Can you produce private label bags from my design?

Yes. As a private label bag manufacturer, every bag we make is a custom model sold under your brand. A bag tech pack sets the shape, dimensions, pattern, materials, hardware, lining, and branding: with one, we choose the right Italian workshop and start with a sample; without one, our team develops it, the pattern, and the prototypes with you.

Do you sell white label bags?

No, we don't sell a ready-made white label range. Every bag we make is a custom model, made in Italy and sold under your brand, from your tech pack, sketch, or reference bag, from 30–50 pieces per style, by one of our 285 verified Italian manufacturers.

Which leathers can I choose?

Full-grain calf, nappa and soft calf, vegetable-tanned and matte leathers, suede and nubuck, embossed and printed leathers, and reptile skins with CITES documents. Also canvas, coated canvas, technical nylon, recycled polyester, organic cotton canvas, and leather alternatives made from food waste, such as orange peel, on request.

How long does a bag prototype take?

A first prototype takes 2–6 weeks, depending on the structure. If the shape needs corrections, a second takes 1–3 weeks. Production then takes 3–5 weeks. We lock every comment in writing before production, because most delays come from late changes.

Can you start from a reference bag?

Yes. Send us a bag you like and tell us what to change: size, leather, hardware, or lining. We use it as a reference for shape and construction, then develop a new pattern and prototype: a custom model for your brand, not a stock model.

Can I visit the workshop?

Yes. Every workshop in our network is verified before it joins, and you can visit the one that makes your bags, during prototyping or production. Our workshops are in Tuscany, Lombardy, Campania, the Marche, and the Veneto. Your project manager organises the visit with you, in English.

Do you ship bags worldwide?

Yes. We ship finished bags, in the dust bags and boxes you choose, to Europe, the USA, the UK, the Middle East, and Asia, and manage customs, duties, and labelling with you, including CITES paperwork for reptile leathers. Your project manager tracks the shipment until it arrives.
